PIvot Weight regain

Watching your body shape change and gaining weight for a woman in midlife, can be alarming and frustrating.

If you have successfully lost a significant amount of weight - either naturally or with the help of weight loss surgery or medication - but are now finding the weight creeping back on, or your weight loss has plateaued, I can help.

Many of my clients describe themselves to other as living in fear of gaining weight and are struggling to take back control of their eating. Healthy eating habits, exercise and getting enough sleep, have often stopped being a priority and other pressures of life have taken their place.

Their disappointment in their weight gain has started to impact their friendships and social life. They feel uncomfortable in their body and their clothes. There is a constant sense of foreboding at the thought of socialising because of the fear they will be judged because of their weight gain. They are unable to stop the ceaseless internal narrative negatively comparing them to others.

Family life can also be impacted negatively. Some women are less enthusiastic, or refuse to go on family outings, and take part in fun activities with their children because they feel so self-conscious. The concerns about weight gain can also seep into other areas of life such as work and intimacy with their partners.

What is your PIVOT POINT?

Perhaps you are feeling stuck or unfulfilled in your career? You have a sense that your skills and talents are being wasted. You may believe it's too late for you to change direction. Yet you crave to have a job that brings you joy, creates value, and gives you a sense of purpose.

Or the stress of managing teenage children or ageing parents whose needs and wants have been prioritised above yours and left you feeling at the bottom of the pile and frankly frustrated.

You want more and you're ready for something new?

Are you feeling lonely? Would you love to make new friends, or connect with old ones, socialise more, start a new hobby but you’ve lost your confidence to take the steps to expand your world? For you are the days and years passing and nothing is changing.

Is there a loud voice in your head mentally beating you up? The one who says you are ‘not good enough’, ‘too old’ or ‘unworthy of pursuing your dreams.' Is this voice halting your enthusiasm and stalling your progress?
